  1. vegetarian shoes? What an amazing business and an incredible story starting making just a few shoes and building up into a large successful store. I didn’t know that 60% of our leather comes from cows in India and I dread to think how they are treated. I thought the cow was sacred in India?

  2. Nicely done Vegetarian Shoes! I’ve been wearing leather alternatives for years and have taken a shining lately to cloth rather than plastic items. I love the fact that leather alternatives don’t support the horrendous cruelty of the leather trade, but it’s tough to think that my worn-out plastic belt or shoes might take several thousand years to decompose in a landfill. That’s why I’m looking more at cloth shoes, belts, wallets, etc. It means changing the way I dress, but that’s little price to pay.

Here in the US a company called MooShoes (mooshoes.com) in New York carries Vegetarian Shoes items as well as other brands.

  3. Great respects and well done saving on animal kill to make shoes. However I am not sure if the environemental impact using plastics for shoes is of geat benefit here. Whilst I do sincerley appreciate the move to vegan shoes and other clothes stuffs are there even more alternatives for the plastics. I heard about corn plastics or maybe bamboo?

Hope I’m not rocking the boat guys not intended and I really do love what you are doing but it’s just that little niggle for me as I’m sure many have asked you too. Put me right and I’ll happily join your long list of happy customers.

  4. Good to see a company like this making a good living whilst helping a good cause. I saw a car at the London motor show made out of hemp which is supposed to be as strong as any steel panel and lighter. This would make a great material to make shoes out of as it’s strong, durable and of course totally animal safe!

  5. The promotional video by Vegetarian Shoes is absolutely amazing to watch, don’t know how I missed this one. The popularity or Vegan shoes is growing by leaps and bound and with the variety of styles and designs it will continue to grow in the coming years.
