DoFollow: Where are all the ethical dofollow blogs?

Finding dofollow blogs can be like finding needles in a haystack.

But it is possible with little bit of research and quite often as you check out your commenters on your own site, particularly if they have left their last blog post with CommentLuv, you can make a visit to their site and check out their comments policy or read through their blog comments and use a variety of tools to see if comments are dofollow or not. (I use a FireFox add-on called “nodofollow” which shows dofollow links in purple and nofollow links in pink)

Don’t rely on dofollow for your back-links.

I know this seems a bit of an irony as I really do advocate dofollow on the web but there are some sites that can draw you into them as regular contributors only to change policy at later date when all of your hard work was for nothing. This is why you should only be commenting on sites where you can add value to the post, be part of that community, and for getting yourself recognised as an expert in your niche IRRESPECTIVE of whether the site is do-follow or no-follow! Get it? Comment on a broad range of sites and NEVER rely on others giving you a back-link. That’s not what blog commenting is about!

Commenter BEWARE! Things can change quite dramatically!

In the RSS feed of dofollow blogs in this sidebar I had included a really interesting site which I quite often went over to comment on. Yes it was nice dofollow back-link no problem there but the site was on lots of stuff to do with the environment, from oil spill tragedies to animals rights abuses. Right up my street you could say. 12 months later that site owner gave up the ghost and his whole site was either taken over by hackers OR he sold it as an ongoing concern to someone. That site which I though was great, became a site for some terribly unethical promotions of pornography, pharmaceuticals and viagra. My lovely dofollow backlinks were now going to endanger Pledging for Change and I may now have a need to use Googles disavow tool ( although the folks at SeoMoz write a great post about the Google disavow tool and urge you to be hesitant before you really need to use it.)

So let’s stay positive on dofollow shall we?

I have even made a cute little video to let you know of my personal thoughts on dofollow and sharing the love around the web. Just enjoy the moment and who knows it might just convert you to the dofollow brigade????

How to get listed in our dofollow RSS feed

If you are a dofollow site and allows dofollow commenting, than I have added this post here to encourage dofollow blogs to let me know of their existence. Make sure you let us know about YOU!….. OH BUT before you do.. You must realize that Pledging for Change is on ethical business and green living so if your site is not compatible then it won’t matter to me whether your are do-follow or not because you will not get your link or promotion here on Pledging for Change.

Don’t forget to come back often and check out our regularly updating RSS feed of QUALITY do-follow blog posts in the sidebar. Hope you find something of worth to you,….. I know I regularly do!

( if you spot a site that has changed policy on dofollow please let me know!)

latest posts on dofollow ethical blogs. Making life easier for you!

Please note: I have also added our own feed because we are dofollow ethical blog too and comments are also very valuable to us.

Make sure you bookmark this page and visit regularly to find new dofollow posts to comment on. More sites will be added all the time.

Dofollow blogs are great but make sure the posts are in your niche and get a balance with other blogs on the web too even if they are nofollow.

Commenting on the web is about community and sharing of information.

There is much debate on the value of dofollow but I’m not getting into that here (unless you want add your two penneth below). It’s just that I personally believe that is the right thing to do and rewarding to the commenters who are after all your traffic that might just keep coming back.

If you don't have integrity, you have nothing. You can't buy it. You can have all the money in the world, but if you are not a moral and ethical person, you really have nothing.
