Fox News reports that nearly half a million beautiful Golden Eagles are killed by wind mills alone!
Pete Dubacher from the Berkshire Bird Paradise Sanctuary was with Fox News when the report came out.
The fact is, many kind and intelligent people are doing everything within their means to help our plant, its inhabitants, and their habitats. At the Berkshire Bird Sanctuary people like Pete Dubacher are hard at work, but need your support.
The Berkshire Bird Sanctuary is located in NY.

Wind Turbine at Bird Paradise Sanctuary, New York
They’re primarily a Bird Rescue for Golden Eagles, American Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Owls, Hawks, NYC Chickens and Pigeons. With over 1200 residents and growing, helping most disabled or unwanted birds, the Sanctuary has had to get creative to help generate support and cut cost.
The Bird Sanctuary just set up an educational program for schools. Call Peter for details (518) 279-3801 or if you live near Petersburgh, New York you should let your school’s PTO know about this opportunity today!
The Bird Sanctuary also set up a 6 foot wind turnbine to generate “green” electricity. Since there is only one wind turbine the birds are free from harms way. As reported in the video above by Fox News, the danger comes when there is hundred’s of wind mills lined up row after row making it very difficult to navigate safely through them.

That’s a neat looking wind turbine! I’m guessing that due to the bulkiness, the birds avoid it. While it’s spinning, it would still look like a solid object because of the outer “wheel” part. Great design!

Oh yeah I guess it is. I never thought of it like that. So why don’t they use this sort of design for other wind turbines in the countryside and oceans for example? Maybe they are keeping the price of materials down? At what price though?
I love eagles. They are the symbol of power and pride :) It’s good to know that the Golden eagles are now under protection like this.
Thanks for bringing this important news story to light. So many times the little things in life get pushed aside and unnoticed. Making people aware of the bird sanctuary and what is being done to preserve its habitat is an important part of conserving our Earth. Green energy is the way that our nation, as well as, our world is going to flourish leading into the future. Thanks for not letting us overlook the smallest among us. In an election year where it seems that no one can agree across party lines, I hope that the beauty of nature and the importance of these creatures is somewhere where we can all come together for a good cause
Thanks to Fox News for making this story one worth covering. You can tell a lot about a society by the way that the treat the least among them. During an election season where the only thing that seems to get any coverage is talking points and bi-partisanship it is nice to see that we can come together as humanity to try to help out these beautiful and majestic creatures. It has restored my faith in the goodness of people to become involved in something that doesn’t just affect their pocket books!
You are really doing some amazing work. I was under the impression that the Golden Eagle was no longer in danger, your article made me think twice. You are really taking the time and care to preserve one of the symbols of this great Nation, not only that, but saving a majestic creature as well. Giving us the information about how we can help was very helpful. Sometimes the articles I read give such a doomsday point of view with no ways that anyone can help. I appreciate all that you do and giving me something to do myself. Good luck and the birds thank you, and I thank you.
Thanks for covering this informational story. Bird sanctuary is doing a great job protecting birds especially eagles. Birds is important to our ecosystem and environment and it is very sad to know that are bring injured and cannot be released back into the wild. This sanctuary needs funds to make it more hospital for the birds though. I don’t think keeping them in cages is a good thing so not sure what’s going on there.
